Sorry if this has been asked many times before - I did some searching on ScubaBoard and did not really find the answer. I will be staying on Key West June 11-15 for a conference, and hope to sneak in a few dives before/during/after the talks. I will be travelling with my regs and mask, but not my full gear. I will have a rental car.

Can anyone recommend dive ops in Key West or nearby who will arrange rental gear and a boat for a morning or afternoon of diving, maybe on relatively short notice? I am not adverse to shore diving either if there are decent spots. My own preferences go towards wrecks and deep walls, but I cannot afford to be too picky in this case...

Thanks already for any tips!

there is virtually no shore diving..Captains Corner is in old town section of Key West..they have everything you may need on the boat..reasonable price..tourist diving, wrecks /reefs.

search the sticky and see if that will help you Key Gen Info

The sticky is useful, but it just lists the phone numbers of a lot of dive ops in the Keys. What I am trying to get is a specific recommendation for a place on or near Key West that can get me on a boat and provide some gear, and maybe caters more to "advanced" divers.

Thanks,

Victor J.

if I were staying in Key West, for the diving, I'd drive 25 miles or so up the road to Looe Key (Big Pine Key) - Looe Key is a marine sanctuary (also in that area is a wreck - the Adolphus Busch)
Not really sure of operators - one i've driven past before is http://www.diveinnerspace.com/

Victor,

After reading your profile, I suspect you are attending the same conference as I on Key West June 11-15. PM me if you're interested in a dive buddy :)

A conference in Key West! I need to change professions. :D

Give Dive Key West a try. http://www.divekeywest.com/ They are experienced and may be able to point you toward someone if they aren't making the trips you want to take.

I'd recommend Subtropic in Key West. Innerspace only runs a 6-pack boat and are less flexible on the short-notice dives.
