There is plenty to see, about a whole lot of years of history in those walls.. Great Wall diving, with plenty of artifacts to be found.. You can see where the workers just stopped working, and left their tools in rare spots, hammers, drill rods, and Carp the size of a German Sheppard.. Nevermind we are organizing a full-fledge clean up brigade witht the Portland Volunteer Navy, anytime a diver has a "Mission" its always fun..

Well then, I guess I stand corrected and I might even have to consider joining you Saturday!

You can see an ugly old bug anytime...We live in New England.. Come on down and play in the Quarry. If you are intrested in some of the history check out the towns web page.

This weekend is a real problem. I have the time but the marine forecast sucks and I have a hard time justifing a fresh water dive. They are just so boring. I'll probably just go to the Nubble and take my chances on the vis/surf. At least it's close.

Tomorrow may not be too bad.

I dove Magnolia Rocks today ( Friday) with Mellow-Yellow and we had 2 great dives. Vis was good, surf was not bad at all.

Mellow Yellow got about 6 keepers and I got all shorts....I didn't even see one keeper size....whats up with that!? lol.....

Oh well, practice , practice I guess. or is it S^&* luck? I guess I should just be happy with not drowning myself some days. ;-P ( considering the fairly swift current out there today.) No current in quarrys though!

As long as the wind doesn't start raging out of the south. FT Wetherill in Jamestown will be diveable for any headed RI's way.
I am on my way out for a late afternoon dive at FT adams. I will post a dive condition report later tonight.

Forget all of the Ocean currents, Surf and pain in the neck jellyfish.. head over to Portland Quarries for real New England Diving.. 70 to 90 feet to the bottom and, all of the Diving conversation you wil be able to handle.. Along with diving with a mission, what do divers love more than that.. Finding and tagging junk on the bottom.. You will never know what you will find.. Come and see the next "Dutch Springs"..in our own back yard, FOR FREE...

Current was pretty bad, but aside from that Magnolia was as good as it gets - and no sweltering between dives!

I lost Jchaplain at one point; when I surfaced to look for him, a lobsterman called me. His propeller got wrapped in a rope, and he asked me to cut it free. In return, he towed me to where Jchaplain's bubbles were (way too far for me to see!), and gave me a buouy float. Apparently my flag dips under water too easily, so he recommended putting that float on it.

wow that was nice of you...and nice of him...you however should practice better buddy skills...

You hunt alone. In Mellows defense this is Lobster hunting and losing track of your buddy is common. We all strive to get better at keeping track but it is a long slow learning curve for most. I personally lose my buddy often when hunting but we always go over the "plan" to regroup before the dive.

Peace
