I thought The Big Blue was sad although Jean Reno was good in it. I like any film, documentary or Hollywood production, that Al Giddings worked on. The Deep is a good one as are the selected James Bond films with his footage. I am renting Cocoon for the weekend and The Abyss is another favorite :D

Question: To all the well informed avid divers out there, what are some of your favourite dive flicks and or documentaries?

As we have all heard, the sci-fi caving movie, The Cave, is now out: here's a thread on it:

Me, I liked the The Big Blue.
My favorite diving flicks are those that are made by real divers ... preferably taken on trips that I was on ...

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

So dramatic and realistic!

Really though, I think its got some great humor in it :D

... course Jaws is always on my post dive list too.

Whats wrong with feeling sad about dead free divers?
*scowl*
I suppose it's also wrong to cheer the shark on in Jaws?

Sorry... :god:

When you said "sad", I thought you meant lame. Now I understand you were talking about emotion. I love Le Grande Bleu.

If I meant lame I would have said lame or "sad excuse"
Jean Reno is the man though :D I bet he could pull off playing Cousteau if he'd shave.
Now who wants to take me to see this "The Cave" flick that I keep hearing about? :05: :eyebrow:
