The water temp is about 73 deg. a little chilly for a wimp from key west like my self. I brought a new hooded vest with the tags still in place. I called and cleared it a head of time they let me use it with out any hassle.

How many aquariums have you dove? Probably none! (that is unless your able to crawl into your own fish tank). Remember, Our sport is a captive audience. Sounds to me as if you are a person which looks at the cost before you look at the experience. Your in the wrong sport if that is the case. If you are a true lover of the sport, spend the money, don't worry about $120.00. It's only money and you can't take it with you when you die. erparamedic's write up is better than anything I could have written. His descriptions and humor was well said.

Disney's® EPCOT® Dive Quest® is a tour to which anyone can and will enjoy. If you come out of the experience with anything other than true exileration, man, you need help. This is a dive no matter how shallow the water that is a MUST do for all divers. This is something that will enthrawl you and all who watch. You become part of the the show, No, YOU ARE THE SHOW on this dive.

When a person or persons can make so many people smile in such a short time with out using words, it's priceless. The spectators and diners get to see something that makes them just smile and laugh. The children start to jump up and down giggling. (yes, some get scared but who cares, you don't know them).

Just spend the money, enjoy the tour and get wet. Remember this too,if by chance you run out of air, your only 25feet down, swim to the surface dummy, they will be more than happy to give you another tank of air :rofl3:

Hey HarleyDiver_FL,

That was a very cool post, thanks.

Just one thing, didn't they mention diving with sharks in the video?!

Is swimming with Jaws normally part of the Disney experience?
:D

The sharks aren't that big. they aren't hungry and they just swim around. Actually, it's preaty cool to be able to be that close to a shark and not have ANY fear. I thought that maybe I would be a little aprehensive when I saw the 7 foot grey monster but I was just amazed at it's grandure and grace. But hey, thanks for the compliment.

I just did my dive there in Dec (the 9th at 4 or 430), I would do it again in a heartbeat. The big shark is now 9-10 feet long and looks like an airliner when it goes by. I swam with the big one for a while and watched the little ones tool around. I also enjoyed the two huge Golioth Groupers. It was an impossible experience for me. I doubt I will ever be able to afford enough dives in the bahamas, if any, and be able to see the amount and variation of sea life I saw that day. I didnt want to come out, and tried real hard to make gills pop out of my neck so I could stay, but no luck there. The interaction was awesome. I teased some newly weds eating diner, and messed with a family of 7 for a while. The kids are really neat to watch. they are transfixed. They almost dont even realize that you are human. Like I said, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I wish my family could have been there. I felt bad going without them, but I was in Florida and couldnt turn it down. maybe next time, my wife and oldest daughter will be certified and we can all go together.

Harley Diver... thanks for compliment on my write up of the Dive Quest experience!

When we were there (Dec. 10 at 4:30), we dove with 9 sharks. After the dive, I specifically asked how many were in the tank... it seemed that everyplace you looked there was a shark! Amazing! The big sand tigers will glide right up next to you. One came by me within a couple feet, and it was an awesome thrill. There were 2 sand tigers in the 9 foot range, 1 small silkie (4 foot), and the others were brown sharks and grey reef sharks... all around 5-7 feet.

I can't wait for the opportunity to do it again!

Does anyone know of any other Aquariums that allow divers to dive in the tanks?

I think the Georgia Aquarium is bigger than Epcot, could I dive there?

The Action Aquarium in Camden NJ has a dive program but I believe it costs about $220. I can't believe that it could touch Disney Divequest. Divequest is a great program and as all have said, I (and most) would do it again.:14:

Yeah I just did Dive Quest on Dec 17th 2006, I was happy to more or less donate the money to their conservation. What an incredible experience. I will never go to Disney again and not do this dive! Also, Adventure aquarium offers a couple different dives one with sharks and one with other sea life. I'm doing the Shark one soon, but if your worried about cost, this one costs $270. Now I really am curious as to how much better this one has to be compared to Disney's for that much more money...hmmm. Maybe you get to bring home a baby shark for your aquarium, lol. Suddenly the $125 seems like a steal!

I am probably at the end of a long list of people that want to do this but is the Georgia Aquarium allowing people to dive the tank?

Or do they have safety concerns since the loss of the Whale Shark?

Sea World had one in thier SHARK aquarium. Only thing is you were confined to a shark cage the whole time. Which makes sense because that is really all that is in the tank is BIG sharks. They may not be hungry or normally aggressive but I can't imagine NOT being in a cage with 100 sharks swimming aroung you in an enclosed environment with no place to run to!! I havent been to Sea World in about a yr so not sure if they are still doing this one or not. My son and I are going to do the EPCOT one soon. SIcne we live here, we arent in a huge hurry but plan to do it soon hopefully.
