I've been to Summersville before but only for a bit of shallow shore diving. I've heard it gets pretty deep, ~300 ft? Does anyone know about deep diving here? Is Sarge's able to accommodate that?

I dive there on most weekends during the summer. I have been down to about 100'. I have never been out with Sarge's Shop but here is the link.

Of course they aren't open till spring but you can call and ask then or try to send an email and see if you get a reply.

What exactly did you have in mind?

I'm trying to finish up advanced trimix with a dive in the 230' range. It probably won't take place until the spring or summer though.

Summersville is 300' deep, not sure where you could find those depths without being in the high boat traffic areas but I'm sure the folks at Sarges would know. If that fails I would contact the Corps of Engineers at the lake and try to get a lake mapof the underwater geography. I know the damn is 390' high and is likely of course to be the deep spot. This are BTW is not too far from the summer diving entry spot and an easy surface swim but there is a lot of boat traffic here.

Let me know what you find out. I can tell you it is about 50*F in the summer months at 100', normal I know but thought I would get that out there to you.

EDIT:

BTW the elevation is 1656' at summer pool.
