My family and I are planning a trip to Barbados in June and I have narrowed it down 2 hotel options. The Divi Heritage or Sun Swept Beach Hotel - both on the west side of the island. I have been reading a lot of reports on various travel websites that the Divi is falling apart, dirty, and an overall bad place to stay. Has anyone recently stayed at either of these places, or can you recommend a place to stay that is on the west side of the island that has a kitchen in the room for $125/night or less?

We are not looking for an all-inclusive place or a place close to the nightlife/Gap.
