Just saw on the news tonight that two divers were bent at Pleasant this afternoon-one being airvaced to the chamber in Scottsdale. Anyone know any details? I like to reserve assesment of these kind of accidents with the only facts coming from news agencies who have a tendency to sensationalize their stories.

Either way I hope all are O.K. and this serves as a reminder to dive safe?

According to my sources, this is true.

I heard some more, but cannot discuss it.

Hopefully more details will be released, and everyone will be ok.

Fox News had an update at 9pm.

Diver (23 years old) reportedly was diving at 150'
Had equipment problems.
Buddy pulled him to surface, flagged boat and did CPR.
Video showed the diver going into the ambulance, looked responsive and moving.
news report says they expect him to be ok.

Remember this is a news organization.

Sending good thoughts out to the diver and his buddy!

150 feet? Is this for sure.

They showed their equipment (I am assuming it was their equipment) on the news. Single 80 by the look of it. No redundancy. If they were doing a boat recovery at 200 feet with that configuration ....

Channel 3 said they were at 100 feet; Came up too fast.
Channel 10 said they were at 150 feet; equipment malfunctioned
Channel 12 said they were at 100 feet; had a problem, came up too fast.

As typical for the news. They don't know what they're talking about so they make it up as they go. They don't expect the Great Unwashed to be smart enough to know the differance.

If it was a salavage attempt, words to the wise; any attempt at any depth is not easy and unless you really know what your doing, so don't try it. Especially without the right equipment. I just hate to see people get hurt.
