All those tacos are unbelievably huge compared to the Oxycheq profile... Seeing the rec wings in action makes me realise that they deserve to be called "wings"!

Just got the UPS tracking number from ScubaToys... not long now :)

Out of interest - how the hell does everyone secure their inflator hose on the harness? I've seen the "bungee through the d-ring holder" trick, but that means I can't lift above my head (or at least high enough) for the air to vent efficiently.

Any ideas on the best method for this to be done?

My bungee is looped around my harness so that it is movable up and down the strap. I have no trouble getting my inflator high enough to dump. You may not want to trust me though, I dive the condemned wing!

Cmuf, would you like to buy a second rec wing? :) Brand new, never used!

You can use both at the same time for ...err... extra lift!

I didn't put the bungee on my harness when I assembled it and now I really dont want to have to disassemble it again!

Argh! It sucks being a noob at something! :dork2:

I could wear 2 for redundancy. :) I'm not sure what your bungee looks like but mine was just a string of bungee that I looped around my harness and tied and burnt the ends so it doesn't unravel.

Ahh! I thought you needed a one-piece bungee!

No need to unlace your harness. Run the bungee under the webbing where the left shoulder dring is.

Make a loop and pull the knot under the webbing, in the same space the dring occupies. Use a generous sized loop so you can raise the hose to dump if you need to.

Thanks Tobin, will try that.

If you get your weight distributed properly and dive with good trim, you might find yourself using the rear dump on that Mach V most often. It is SO easy to raise your left hip slightly and vent with the Mach V. The only time I really use the inflator hose to dump air is when I'm vertical at the surface. That said, if you make the bungee loop the proper size and have your d-rings in the right location, you should still be able to use the inflator hose to dump gas without coming too far out of trim.

I'd like to think managing the taco has made me a better diver :D
Get a proper non-tacoing narrow wing and it will make you a super hero underwater!

First, I use the rear dump most of the time.

Second, I have relatively thin (flexible) bungee loop under the left shoulder d-ring. The larger the loop the more freedom you have to move the inflator. Also, I don't put the inflator under it, but rather the inflator's LP hose, so when I raise the inflator the loop runs up (down?) the smooth hose giving me more freedom to extend it, yet it still keeps the inflator in place where I can always find it easily.

Some people just put the whole inflator under the bungee when not in use (for example to keep it in place when entering the water), but then remove it once the dive starts.
