Question - I've got my harness setup with my drings just below my shoulders. I need it fairly high so I can then fit the weightbelt underneath the harness waist strap.

Is that the correct way to position/adjust the harness? or should the harness sit lower?

You had the RED DR Rec Wing? Oh man, you should have mentioned that. The red Rec Wing is the best wing out there! Never taco's at all, perfect for singles as well as doubles!

:D

Just kidding, of course!

Here's another "where's the wing" photo of a Mach V in action while you await delivery...

We are looking for photos of OxyCheq products for our web site and literature. If anyone has any nice photos that we can use, please contact us. The larger photo, the better. This one would make a nice poster.

Best regards,

Patrick

Patrick - I would happily offer you use of this photo, but while I'm the guy in the picture I'm not the photographer. It was a fellow passenger on the Cayman Aggressor and unfortunately I'm not sure who it was or how to get in touch with them.

The rec wing is great for doubles, but I will not use it for singles. To much bulk and to much lift, even with a dry suit & steel tank.
I think we all find that there is considerale 'personal preference' in our gear choices. I dive a Rec wing with a SS BP and single HP steel 120s (wet and dry). Absolutely love it. Some may not, and their opinion is just as useful as mine, and just like mine - based on personal preference. I also dive a Rec with double HP steel 120s. It works well. But I have moved to a Halcyon Explorer (55) and I prefer that for doubles when deco bottles are involved.

just got the call that my oxy mach v is here.

taking it out this sat for 2 dives.

any last tips of config, weighting, adjustments, dumping air, etc. that I can use to make my "first" time more enjoyable.

btw I'll be a doing a trial run/weight check in the pool before the dives.

I agree that personal preference plays a large roll in gear selection, but what good is it without having different data points to make comparisons? Have you ever used a narrow profile single tank specific wing before? Something like a Mach V, Razor, LCD,Torus, Blackbird, or Eclipse?

I ask because two years ago I would have told you how great the OMS 60lb bungee wing was for singles. Now that I've tried other options, I know how awful that wing is when compared to a dedicated singles wing like the Mach V.

Anyone want to tell me what the hell "taco" is?

I assume its some sort of term for tank wrap :)

Thats exactly what it is. Post 14 shows some pictures of my wing wrapping around my tank. Looks like a taco :)
