BEM:
- photocopies of our passports, along with the real ones.

- small plastic bottle of hand sanitizer. Nice to have when there is no soap around.

- list of all our gear and contents of suitcases. Came in handy when suitcases go on their own vacation without you.


Those are good ones. I brought the bottled sanitizer on my last trip, and I always print 2 checklists of everything in my bags - but more just so I don't forget anything when leaving than for loss recovery. I keep copies of my ID/Passport in my computer bag when I travel, just in case. I also keep updated copies of all my credit cards & IDs in my files at home, along with all the necessary contact #'s for a lost wallet sync'd to my PalmPilot (banks, cc co.'s, Experian, etc.). Be prepared for anything, sez I....
