If I can make a deal on a newer motor home over the next week or so, I will be selling my old motor home for $2500. It works fine for hauling dive gear, changing in and having a roof over your head and a dry warm bed for a good night's sleep. It is old and worn, but it runs fine and doesn't leak (any more):D

I'm looking for a trailer just like this one. Anybody know where to get one, either new or used?

Thanks

I would also like to know the same information.

I'm sure you meant feet not inches! :mooner:

How much gear do you have!!!!! rather how many dives can you fit in a day?
assuming a 2' sidewall on a 5 x 10 trailer... that's 100 cuft of gear!! :11:
ha! Simply mount a HP120 tank and compress your gear!!! :D (sorry:()

ok being serious now... some real ideas...

put an upright wall down the center line of the trailer front to back to divide the trailer into 2 parts (one side for you, one for your buddy), make it say 3 feet high so your tanks will fit nicely against it and not hit the lid, now run an 18" side wall all the way around and hinge a lid of each side so that they clip together in the middle. Tanks go down the middle against the wall in clips, bungees, whatever (upright and secure)
Have a wet compartment with drain to road and some dry compartments, better still make the compartments fit rubbermaid boxes, drill holes in the wet compartment one, so you can tote your stuff about outside the trailer, for cleaning sorting etc. Keep heavy stuff over the axles and learn to back a trailer. It's not too hard once you figure it out. seeing is the hard part (lower the tailgate on your truck!)

put a couple of good locks on the trailer, and a few coats of paint, then sell the space to your LDS as cheap advertising for favors!

Good luck!
Rob

As you may remember, I have been on this project.

If you want to pack at least two full sets of gear, you need to get at least 5"x10" size. Otherwise, you can't organize your gear in the trailer except just packing up all gear. And, most small SUV only can handle less than 1500 lb (Max), so you can't go beyond 5x10 size without having a separate trailer brake and I'm stupid cooler.

Based on my research, the most ideal size is 6x10 or 6x12 with a ramp gate, trailer brake and I'm stupid cooler. It will be about $3K for the brand new one and $2K in the used one.

Just my 2 bar...

It reminds me of a motorcycle trailer. Try a motorcycle shop or a large Sears or Lowes / Home Depot. I will keep an eye out.

You must miss this link above: http://ephayes.com/trailers.htm

As I recall, it is 5X12 or 6X10 foot sizes. How do you think? Can you see a lot of gear insde?

Like I said, if you just want to pack up your gear, 5X8 foot will be ok. But, to get an organized arrangment, walking aisle, and standing inside of trailer, 5x10 (6ft height) is the smallest size in my perspectives.

If I buy a trailer, it is for ready to go and dive anytime without having extra packing.
I would like to walk out and into a trailer with my double and change my dry suit inside. Otherwise, any small size truck and suv can do the job only for packing.

Again, my 2 bar.:D

THis exact trailer was for sale on Deco Stop and maybe here.

According to the seller, in the ad statement, this trailer was a "Sears Trailer".

So might want to check with Sears.

I don't know if his trailer ever sold. The thread doesn't state it does.

see http://thedecostop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21572&highlight=trailer

Thanks. The original owner did say it was a Sears trailer. I've checked with Sears in my area and they don't sell trailers of any kind. I was hoping that it was fairly common and would be available elsewhere too.

I remember Sears selling them several years ago... but not really something I've kept track of.

Apparantly these trailers were made by Allstate for Sears.
see http://www.singlewheel.com/AllstateBoxFR.htm

These apparantly were also marketed to Motorcyle riders to pull behind their bikes for cargo hauling (suitcases, cooler, etc). So look for them at a motorcyle cargo trailer

Have you tried Google or craigs list?

I found this 4' by 4' Sears trailer for sale posted 3/4 for $75 bucks on www.google.com

Another for $250

Here's one web page on how one guy made his own. Looks similar to the Sears one.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. I guess I got a little "tunnel vision" and wasn't doing a very good job of looking.

I appreciate it.
