I think the issue with these coordinates is that the longitude should either by positive/negative or East/West -- having a negative longitude with the 'W' is not a valid coordinate. Either way, those coordinates look to be in the middle of the ocean not near any land.stumbled upon this today while looking for other subsurface stuff. I created an account and uploaded my dive GPS info. Hope it helps. I have one more dive site i cannot figure out how to convert, if any of you know how, feel free to clue me in. I went to the coordinate conversion sites but had no luck getting anything accurate I could put in Sub surface.
GPS coordinates:
- 5° 04.8' N -87° 38.5' W
Yeah, i'm not going to concern myself w/ it anymore . it's the one reef I did not have proper coordinates for and that is what google gave me for the reef.I think the issue with these coordinates is that the longitude should either by positive/negative or East/West -- having a negative longitude with the 'W' is not a valid coordinate. Do you mean 5°04'48.0"N 87°38'30.0"E, or do you mean 5°04'48.0"N 87°38'30.0"W? The latter is near Cocos Island National Park in Costa Rica, the former is half-way between Sri Lanka and Malaysia.stumbled upon this today while looking for other subsurface stuff.
