DVT is a deep vein thrombosis

DVTs are associated with immobility. International flights, where someone sits in a chair for hours upon hours at a time with minimal movement due to the sardines in a can effect is a good non-surgical example.

Thank you to everyone for their replies. I went to a DAN recommended dive physician and was cleared for diving. The process was surprisingly easy and I can now get back in the water. Bottom line: I should not have waited that long and been so intimidated by it. I am indeed a healthy and fit person and it was neither costly, nor complicated. Phew! I appreciate all the input and help <3
