Really hoping to hear if the Lemons are there finally, we are off on 1/24-25, so lets hope so by then!

Here is a quick summary of the dives.

The boat left the dock about 45 minutes late and we headed north out of Jupiter for our 2 hour ride up the the Rankin. When we got there conditions seemed perfect. Seas were flat about 1-2 feet, the water was blue and there was only a slight current. Once we hit the water and started to decend, we could not see the wreck. At about 90-100 feet visibility dropped to zero. I could have been 5 feet from the wreck but I have no idea. So much for diving the Rankin. So the captain took us south to the Hole in the Wall, which is a REALLY awesome dive. After that, we dove the 3 wrecks of the Zion, the Bonaire, and a third (can't remember it's name), and our final dive of the day was the tunnels. Overall I really enjoyed the last 3 sites and it made up for not seeing the Rankin.

BTW we only saw one shark and it was a nurse shark not a lemon.

Sim I have friends that dove down in Jupiter last Saturday, they said the lemons were everywhere! They dove with the Blue Tang... What is the Hole In the Wall? I haven't done that one.

There is a discription of the hole in the wall or also known as the cave
in DeLoach's guide to underwater Florida on page 243 no.16. It's really a
great dive and remember to think about going in September. Its a great
dive year round but thats when the goliath groupers come to spawn and
there are 30-40 of them hanging around. I was on the dive yesterday
also and I went twice before with Randy to the Rankin. When its good
its really good but yesterday was a let down. I still plan on going again
someday. Since it will be tough to determine what the vis will be, going
to have to press on leaving on time.

I will have to ask about that next time we go down there to Jupiter... is it a total cave? or more of a cavern? I dont have that guide, but I will be at Barne's and Noble tonight to get one...

From DeLoach's decription "The cave acutually described as a tunnel, cuts
into the corner of the drop off and elbows to the right and back out into
the open water. The great tunnel is large enough to drive two semis, side
by side, all the way through. It is 140 ft to the cave's floor. The lenth of
the tunnel is 60-80ft."
DeLoach's book is an excellent source for diving in Florida. I don't think
you would regret having one.
