when i dive. to say a knife isn't necessary is not true. i do most of my dives in the north end & there have been times when i have gotten caught in monofilament line. while that doesn't happen very often, i can say that on most dives there i end up cutting mono line from the sponges, etc. as far as gloves are concerned, they provide me with warmth & protection. if someone can tell me how to catch a lobster without gloves, i'm all ears.
