Mammoth Lake
Air Temp: High 70's - low 80's, Clear
Surface Temp: 70f
Depth Temp: 60f at around 35'
Vis: 8-12 feet
Sights seen: mammoth's, boat wrecks, Lake Charles Fire Dept, space shuttles, C-130's, Fay Wray's, etc.

This was a great opportunity to try out my new 5mm wetsuit and 5mm accouterments. I felt really comfortable to about 68F but got chilled at 60F. But the good thing was I think I can stand it at 60F for a while.

Mammoth is so cool when the viz is good. Mike and everybody at Hydrosports Scuba always put on a good show.

1 Shaker Plant - Lake Travis
Did the nice circuit, definitely can feel the temp drop around 40ish feet...especially when you leave your gloves at home!
Vis around 10ish feet. temp 54 at 112' & 66 at surface

2 Oasis Wall
We were around 70-74' viz was surprisingly good, but I found the good grottos and rock formations were either above us or below us. Went down to 85 for a bit and saw some better stuff then made our way back up. Still a good dive.
Viz 10-12ish @74 feet. temp 57@ 84' & 66 at surface.

Nice WINDY day!

75f outside in afternoon.

Dive 1.) 40 minutes,,37 'deep' ffw,,51f temp. ;)

Dive 2.) 90 minutes,,only 35ffw--playing it smart,,52f temp. :)

Park not crowded (yet).

Conditions at Lake Tenkiller as of April 22 2010
Visibility: 10ft
Temp@surface: low 60's
Temp@70ft: low 50's

There is a large amount of algae floating on the surface, but it seems to have not affected the vis much. Best vis is in the 25 to 40ft range

Conditions at Oronogo (Joplin Missouri) April 23 2010
Vis at surface: 5-6ft
Vis at depth: 2-10ft
Temp at surface: mid 60's
Temp at depth: low 50's

There was tons of particulate floating around. As soon as you thought things might clear up you would run into another particle cloud. Now is not the best time to go to Oronogo.

Conditions at Beaver Lake April 24 and 25 @ DUI DOG days
Vis at surface 10-20ft
Vis at 60ft 20-30ft
temp at surface: low 60's
temp at depth: low 50's

Vis was really good as long as you stayed away from the entry/exit area.

Lake Travis - Windy Point Park
Air Temp: High 70's, Partly Cloudy
Surface Temp: 69f
Depth Temp: 53f at Max 168'
Vis: 5ft to 30', 10-20ft 30'-110', dropped to 1-2ft fast below 130' if not zero
Lake Level: 681'msl = FULL POOL

Made a support dive w/ K-valve on the GTTP today. We each took a long PVC stake to drop on the bottom line so the push divers could use them to add a few hundred feet to the project.

Vis is still really good from 45-100', but starts milking up quickly after. This was my 2nd dive on the GTTP, last one was almost two years ago. It was nice to take lead, so I could occasionally scoop up the 1-2ft of vis pockets in the mostly zero vis . I knew that K-valve following me would get none as down in the channel it's hard to tell if your in the muck or not; whatever was there I'm sure I wiped out. I made it to the end of the line at 168' with no trouble, although there were definitely some unexpected changes in the lines direction.

Really great day to go diving and catch up w/ some North Texas Swampers:D

Check out the curve on the attached temp profile

May 1 & 2, 2010
CSSP, Terrell, TX
Temps were 72F at the surface, 54F at 33 feet and 51F at 44 feet
Thermocline at 20 feet
Visibility around 15 feet

Saturday (these dives were to finish up my solo certification course):

#1 - 91 minutes
#2 - 61 minutes

Sunday (fun dives):

#1 - 51 minutes
#2 - 70 minutes

Saw lots of catfish and schools of baby bass.

Added some new lines from the swimming pool shell to the fishing boat and metal framing at Wreck Alley. TXmanager recovered a dive flag at depth between the swimming pool shell and the houseboat, confirming Downunderjenn's theory of the Wreck Alley Triangle as it is the latest item lost in this area.

Temps:
Surface - 70*
Depth (70') - 57*
Visibility - 15' - 20', really opened up past 45'

Sunny, yet with a good breeze. Hot and around 90 today.

Surface: about 70 degrees.
Max depth: 72'
Temp at depth: 63 degrees.
Vis: Varied quite a bit. Max was about 15'

Dove to the grottos and explored around a bit. Vis was weird, hazy at times up shallow and around 3-5'. Opened up a lot getting deeper than 25-30'. Sharp thermocline just about 45'. It also became pretty dark nearing 70' around the grottos. Saw few fish.

Did recover a nice pair of almost new Oakley's. Sweet !

Went diving to Canyon Lake, May 2, 2010. The visability was about 5 to 10 feet visability and the water temperature was at 67 degrees. It was a good dive. I have always been use to limited vis diving and If I have 5 feet vis or better, I am one happy diver. :) :cool2:
