So I recently got a promotion at work and I'm looking to spend the first month, month and a half pay raise because I deserve too.
I currently have an Oceanic Veo 1.0 that I dive with and the reality is it is just fine. It is a little hard to read and flipping through the functions and what not is painfully slow with only one button but it works. However since diving is in many aspects a gadget hobby I was thinking about getting a new computer. I like the Mares Icon HD Air Integrated computer. The menus seem intuitive, the colorscreen is sharp, I want the hoseless feature, and playing around with the simulator Mares Icon HD SIMULATOR | The future is here...Just add water! it seems pretty easy to use.
My question is though is there better for less money or the same price? At this point in time I'm strictly a recreation type diver. I do have an interest in doing deco dives but the reality is it won't be for a couple more years if at all. I'm not interested in caving but the idea of being able to check out some wrecks and what not in deeper water is compelling but it isn't in the near future.
I was also looking at a few of the computers at the divegearexpress webpage Dive Computers and Accessories - Dive Gear Express just to look. Any recommendations or wise words are welcome....
