Basically there are only a few manufacturers that develop their own computer algorithms and do research. Amongst them are Suunto and Scubapro/Uwatec. Most other producers buy their stuff elsewhere.
In that respect I prefer those who do their own developing.
I do not own a Suunto anymore for two reasons. I really don't care for the menu structure and secondly my old eyes can't read the display anymore. I can see the numbers, but the text next to it is to small, so I don't know if I'm at 18 meters or am I diving for 18 minutes, stuff like that. So I changed to a"flatscreen" size Uwatec.
