Hi fellow Divers!

I just moved to the area and looking for a good dive charter boat. Any suggestions? Do and Don'ts...last thing I want to do is book with the wrong boat/captain. I have heard the diving here is spectacular----can't wait. South Palm Beach/Boynton/Lantana.

Thanks

underwater explorers in boynton, dolphin sun out of lantana are a few ive gone on frequently and enjoyed

Underwater Explorers has a nice boat with a nice captain that I've been out with a few times. Additionally, Capt Kevin once loaned me an extra hood when I was diving at Blue Heron Bridge during the winter (he was teaching a class at BHB). Saved me since the water temp was 69-71 degrees.... like I said, really nice guy!

I've also been out with Pelican Dive Charter a couple of times when Underwater Explorers was booked. Really nice couple run the operation though the boat is a bit more crowed than UE's boat.

Both are in Two Georges/Boyton Beach Marina

+3, Underwater Exporers and Kevin Metz. Reefs in Boynton Beach are fantastic and you'd love the Castor. Scalloped Hammerheads last Sunday morning and afternoon, you never know.

I found this guy to be and old pro. Spun the boat around and put the dive ladder right in my hands. He may have retired. He was talking about it

Lee, I was just discussing this charter yesterday aboard the "Little Deeper" up in West Palm Beach out of the Lakes Park Marina.
The "Little Deeper" was down in Boynton at one point as well. I had a good trip with them on Friday. I'm still trying to find some
favorites up here in west palm beach. In Boynton I dove from Loggerhead, Pelican Charters, and also from Starfish. Starfish was
in Lantana and has been down in Boynton for about a year I think.

Narcosis is a really nice boat in west palm, and I prefer West Palm and Jupiter to boynton (all personal preference). If you want to make the drive jupiter diving is fantastic.

I dove with calypso dive charters out of lantana last weekend. Nice boat. We were not packed in like cattle. I enjoy that aspect of it as when I dive on commercial boats there is never any room to breath with the way most pack you on. Nice people as well.

EDIT- here is the link to it. http://calypsodivecharters.com/

Thanks for the input. I dove with Loggerhead. What a great set-up. The captain & crew were awesome. Had a wonderful dive. Will dive with this operation again. I also chartered a dive with the Dolphin Sun, sorry to say, not so nice of an experience. The captain was nice during the briefing. He and his crew rushed the divers into the water and not very helpful instructions. I felt really bad for the students on board. The 1st mate(divemaster) was rude and preoccupied with his phone and book. I would not recommend this operation. Plus the boat was in dire need of repair. I will continue to dive out of 2 Georges marina, several choices of dive charters.
