Thanks for the suggestions. 42 degrees is plenty cold. Not exactly sure I call that recreational, even with a dry suit.

Your comment about thermoclines is interesting. Are these quarries fed by ice cold springs or are the layers so stable that there is no natural mixing and the lower layers don't get any solar penetration?

All in all, I appreciate how informed everyone seems to be.
