So, a few years ago I arrived at a CT shore site, geared up and walked to the water with my fins being back in the trailer in NY. What was I gunna do, walk the dive? Fortunately, some lifeguards at the nearby beach had a spare pair to lend me. But to do a try dive like that on purpose?

Personally I am more worried about the fact that they share a tank.

It looks like they are only 4m deep but if someone falls off ...

Yeah, agree. I mean we're talking about "unofficial" ei.. Non-PADI/NAUI/others "Try" dives. Lord knows what some places do. I have enough issues with the "official" DSDs let alone others.
 
We often handle divers with no fins,
But the participants usually show up in wheelchairs.

There are exceptions.
