Was wondering where i can get some DIR info ..i'm not very familiar with DIR i'm guessing its a standarized set of dive equipment requirments??

Uncle Pug forgot to mention that through the GUE website (www.gue.com) you can also purchase the book on the Fundamentals of DIR (not sure if that's the official title, but you get the idea).

Look on their products page.

While I don't have my copy yet, many others here have said very good things about it.

is "Doing it Right, The Fundamentals of Better Diving", by Jarrod Jablonski. Very neat little book, all divers should read this one.

Thanks for everyones replys looks like i have some good reading to do ...thanks

I just bought the book "Doing it Right, The Fundamentals of Better Diving", by Jarrod Jablonski at Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...279176/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/002-7698371-0076026.

It’s a great read if you take the all or nothing mentality with a grain of salt. What I did like is the fact that it presents an equipment configuration without ANY ambiguity. It has some very good ideas that I’ll looking forward to trying out as time and money allows.

I agree, the DIRF book is great. Here's some links that I hand out to those interested:

I will probably go ahead and read this book just on name alone ..The Fundamentals of Better Diving", which means to me "Safer Diving"which is something i strive for with myself as well as my fellow divers....but on the other hand i do not Tech Dive nor Do I cave dive and seeing as i don't plan on doing either of these in the future it seems like most of the equipment idealogy doesn't apply to me ......<is DIR directed towards these two types of diving exclusively???> A 7 foot Reg hose while spear fishing in the gulf in 60 feet of water?? Just wouldn't make sense to me ..but I still have alot of reading to do ..thanks again
