Howdy everyone. I'm a new diver who sees the wisdom of diving DIR. I'm presently building up my Dive Rite BP and I have to ask; For a single tank al80, what is the DIR requirement for the cam bands? I'm sure the plastic buckle type is out (I wouldn't want that anyway). How about the SS ScubaPro style made by Dive Rite?
Thanks
Brent

Halcyon makes their own cam straps w/ss buckles.
They work great but, so do the diverite ones.

I dunno . . . Never read anything about cam bands. I have the plastic buckle sort on my singles rig, and my Fundies instructor didn't say a word about it.

I have some of the older H bands on my single tank rig... I don't think it matters much on the tank bands... but then again with the newer H's you can't go wrong... some find the little nicks annoying though

I like the H cambands, except for the nicking they do. On my Al80s that don't have paint, it's fine, not a big deal. If I use them on Faber tanks the cambands tend to pull a little of the paint off. I haven't tried it with hot-dipped galvanized tanks yet.

One thing is for sure, though. Your tank isn't coming undone with an H camband.

Are people having trouble with other cam bands? I just have/use the plastic DSS ones that came with my DSS rig. Haven't had any problems to date.

No, you're just reading too much into my wording. All I said was that you wouldn't have a tank fall out using H cambands...nothing more. I have no experience with any other brand.
