Hi Peter_C,

i was looking at the picture, i saw that at the 90º joint at the bottom, there is a "black" line across that section, seems like a two piece to me.

So far I only know of this model that is a one piece: http://mcdn.scuba.com/images/misc/Poseidon-Din-To-Yoke-Scuba-Regulator-Adapter-1-Big-2.jpg

Anyone of yall know of any other one piece model out there?

Dive Right makes (Scratch that...sells) a one piece design. Hmm on second glance I could be wrong with the newer versions. If it came apart once, and you used loctite to put it together than that should be a solid repair. I have a Scubapro version that swivels and it is my favorite.

If you want to sell it I will give you $20 shipped. I need two more.

FWIW I would recommend changing from DIN to yoke not using an adapter. It takes more time to get the tools ready than it does to change the fittings.

This appears to be a one piece design.

hey man, what brand is your adapter?

Mine are all "one piece" and I've never had a problem

Victor how do you do that? Do you mean that for a yoke type first stage, after we replace the yoke with a din connector, there is an insert that can be used to convert the yoke connector to a din-to-yoke adapter?

I agree with Peter_C most first stages have an interchangable section that connects the body of the first stage to the DIN or Yoke connector.
If you have both of those sections it is an easy job to switch from one to the other.
If you are uncertain what you will need then having a Yoke first stage and the inserts (maybe 2 length) to convert Yoke to DIN is an easier option.

Did this converter come with the regulator? I ask because i have normally been under the impression the converter was not for diving but for filling use to adapt a din whip to a yoke tank.

Doubtful, I could be wrong but, the reg looks to be an Apeks FSR and Apeks adaptors are silver one piece.

I have a XS Scuba converter. I'm going to go look closer to see if it's 1 or 2 pieces. I paid $50 at my LDS, but amazon has it for $30. http://goo.gl/WBEjVB

My Dive Rite is definitely a one piece design. The newer ones they sourced may or may not be one piece.

Seems HOG uses a one piece design too.
DIN to Yoke conversion Kit - Dive Right in Scuba

Here are my two adapters. The one on the left is a Scubapro version that swivels and IS a yoke conversion kit. The DIN part of the Scubapro one screws onto it, turning it into a DIN to yoke adapter. If anyone knows where to get two of those adapters cheap let me know. I have a couple Scubapro yoke fittings that I want to put to use. Anyhow the Dive Rite adapter is on the right. It works. I have never used either underwater, only use them for filling tanks.

You must swap the reg to yoke than back to DIN. There is no adapter, it is a changeover kit.

This is for a HOG reg but will give you an idea of the kit contents.

As I said above, if you used Loctite on the adapter you have, then use it. The chances of it failing in the water are very slim, since you repaired it. My offer still stands if you decide to sell it of course ;)

That is why most all of my purchases today are researched and the lowest price with a reliable vendor is chosen. Amazon or Ebay usually win!
Doing a complete home remodel the savings adds up to thousands and thousands of dollars.

Thank you all for sharing!!

Peter_C, I have already returned my 3X DGX Adapters back. I loctite it back and it looks solid, but I most likely did not thread the two pieces back to the required torque values, thus I have not confidence if the metal to metal sealing on the thread will hold (I know its not a critical sealing surface, or maybe its not MTM sealing) or will it un-thread again in the future.

You got it right! Apeks FSR and a non-apeks adapter, I wish I had an Apeks one-piece adapter too :)

The actual Apeks yoke conversion kit, not the adapter, is more expensive and can be had from places like TDL aka Tech Diving Limited. I bought one from there a long time ago for an Apeks DST. The quality was top notch!
