My wife has an Aqualung Calypso Regulator set with a DIN 1st stage (we currently are stationed in Europe). She is going on a dive trip soon and was advised that the company does not have tanks that accept a DIN 1st stages.

We purchased an aqualung yoke adapter to mount on her DIN regulator but it turns out that it will not work. The threaded area of the calypso is too short to seat against the back of the yoke adapter.

Is there a yoke adapter that will work with the Calypso DIN regulator?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

she must have a 200bar din regulator, which is not all that common. You can try to find a 200bar yoke adapter, I think all of the Poseidons are 200bar and there are a slew of others.

I succeeded in finding a yoke adapter for my Atomic Aquatics DIN regulator and found that the first stage extended too far from the tank neck and was always poking me in the back of my head. Very annoying. I ended up buying an AQ conversion kit to a yoke configuration. Perhaps something similar is available for your Calypso.

Thanks. We really don't want to "convert" the regulator to yoke...we just want to "adapt" it to yoke for those times when a DIN valved bottle is not available like on her upcoming trip.

This is good info. Will see what the LDS can order as they currently only stock the Aqualung adapter that we already bought. My concern with shopping for this online is if I pay to have a product shipped and it arrives and does not fit. For now the one we have is not a loss as I can use it on my Mares MR22...just need to find one that will difinitively work on my wife's regulator

Thanks again,

You sure her first stage is a Calypso, from manuals and online shops they don't seem to have be sold as DIN. http://www.aqualung.com/au/gear/aqua-lung-regulators/item/15-calypso#tab17 http://www.frogkick.dk/manuals/aqualung/

I was looking to find if it was supplied with 200bar (which would be old) and if the parts for yoke are readily available. Typically it is one 'bold' to convert the reg vs one connector for the adaptor. Its a quick job to swap over, I keep both yoke and din for many of my regs.

I am positive it is a Calypso. The serial number on the 1st and 2nd stages are a match. We are stationed in Belgium. I believe the US and European aqualung catalogs are slightly different. Here is the link to the regulator on the website from our LDS where we bought it:

is the din screw on your wifes noticeably shorter than yours? If it has a few less threads it will be visually shorter and is 200bar only. If it is, then this one will work

I think this is the ticket...the threads are noticeably shorter. I just took a look at the link to see if the company ships to military APO addresses and they do....just need to check with my wife to see if there is anything else she needs/wants so we can economize on the shipping.

Thanks for the help.

I only mentioned this because on the Atomic the conversion is easily reversible, and the adaptor solution, which I lived with for 25 dives , was a real pain in the neck. Anyways, I hope that all goes well.
