Never noticed any corrosion on my DIN threads,but I do dive mostly fresh water.

Putting any lubrication on the threads seems like a bad idea,it needs to be O2 compatible (expensive) if the tanks are PP filled for nitrox and I would rather not run the risk of breathing the stuff.

People have been hurt by plastic DIN plugs rocketing out of tanks when the valve is accidentally opened. if you want plugs get the stainless ones.
