Wow.....what a DB
For those of us here that are divers of any certification, almost all of us will have had to go through the OW certification at some point. Some perhaps more than once even.
My question is this: Did you interview your instructor and / or LDS to learn about teaching style, rules, course content, competence etc. before you signed up for your OW certification? This is the best way to approach the learning process when given the choice (assuming you know to ask the questions and what questions to ask) but I wonder how many of us actually had the knowledge to do so when we first saw the "dive light".
I for one had a session in the pool (a version of DSD), surfaced and asked where I had to sign. Prior to this some information was exchanged but when I took my first breaths underwater, I knew it was for me. So, I started almost immediately. All thoughts of teaching styles etc. were shelved temporarily. For further teachings and courses, I knew a bit better.
