I have done both and I would choose the Devils Den.

With all the talk of the swim throughs at devils den, i will add this warning.

There are false swim throughs!!!! If you are not careful you can find yourself in a dead end with no way to turn around. There is one in particular that i got into which was a dead end and when i finally turned to get out i found me self in another dead end. I kept my cool and found my way back out, but if could have turn out very badly.

Devils Den is actually a more advanced dive than blue grotto because of the cave openings and the false swim throughs. Be careful if you go there without good lights and cavern experience.

Agree. I took an experienced DM with me on both dives. I also mapped out where we would go prior to diving. You need to be very careful in DD, or follow the guide as I did.

If you can only dive one, I'd recommend Blue Grotto. It's deeper and more spacious.

Going to be runing classes this weekend at devil's den and blue grotto. OW class at the Den on Sat and OW&AOW classes on sunday at blue grotto. If you there say hi. Look for the blue truck with the guam dive sticker.

My son and I had a great dive today at Devil's Den. He claims it's the coolest dive he's ever done. Thanks, everyone for your advice. It all went very smoothly without a hitch. Next time, we'll have to hit Blue Grotto.

I was just there this week with my husband and we did both sites back-to-back (we even drove from Blue Grotto to Devil's Den in our wetsuits, they're that close). They were both excellent for our first cavern introduction. We went with a guide our first day for both sites (from American Pro Diving Center), then we went by ourselves the second day at Blue Grotto and brought my dad along, who's a newly certified diver. We kept him above Peace Rock at 55 ft for his dive with us. We felt Blue Grotto would be easier for him because of all the platforms and the openness. A new diver might not be as comfortable with the swim thrus at Devil's Den but could certainly handle the bowl there. Blue Grotto is undergoing renovations that look very nice - lots of pavillions and a very easy entrance with a huge platform. We went in the middle of the week in January and we were the only people in the water at both sites. On the surface, the small waterfall at Blue Grotto and the entrance/chimney at Devil's Den are both beautiful.

I wore a 5mm with boots, no hood, no gloves and I was comfortable, just a tiny chill at the end of the day (5'4, 140). My husband (5'10, 165) wore a 7mm with attached hood and boots and was comfortable and toasty. 70 degrees in the water.

I did my initial OW dive training at Blue Grotto. I then did my limited viz, navigation, and deep water (which all led ot my AOW) certs there as well.

It is clear, has some neat fishies in it, you can go down to depths of almost 100 feet, and has really improved in the last few months due to new ownership - much easier to access and well layed out now. The platforms at various depths are fun to us and practice your trim, buoyancy, etc.

Ron, I think you'd like it there. PS - when's the move, dude? I hope we can get out one last time on the Pelican for a dive!
