still researching. Sharm does seem to be the front runner at this point though.

This is an off-the-wall suggestion and I have never been there - but the Canary Islands off of Spain have "party town" reputations and they do offer some scuba diving there.

Santa Rosa from Chandler is almost 8 hrs. Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) is 4. Note - I did say average diving.
