For planning and advanced training it would be beneficial to have built into the desktop software a simulation of the (Shearwater insert model) to navigate the end user through the menu structure and changes to the interface of their dive computer that they could later navigate through a virtual dive.

Concept!

Select Computer: Perdix
Select Firmware Version: v34
Visual Display of unit selected above with 2 button control interface.
Ability to navigate through menu structures on visual display to alter device settings.
Ability to save device settings to profile to that can be uploaded via Bluetooth to actual unit or save for later reference.
Ability to deploy unit out to a virtual dive and see how the screen would read out thought dive.
-Water: Salt / Fresh
-Altitude: 0 FT / M
-Etc.

The ability to plan / practice and be aware of any indicators / warnings that may display through the dive in a simulation would increase the safety of any dive.

Another amazing feature would be to log simulation criteria based of the most popular dive sites.

I want one of those pressure boxes they use in their videos - I wonder where I can get one.
E-Bay? Aliexpress? Dx.com? :p

On a more serious note, a simulation would really help plan dives. Maybe it would also be possible to import and existing dive into the planner and use it as a basis for the new dive plan?

You can plan your dive with Multideco, subsurface, etc. Or you can chose a brand which includes that in their logging software.

A simulator to see how the device behaves in different circumstances is a different beast to planning.

FYI, you can already take a Predator for a virtual dive in several real (virtual) dive sites with our eDiving Scuba Diving simulator. Also divePAL includes the Predator too.
When we have some time (very little these days) we will add the Petrix too.
