HA HA HA HA

SB is getting sued.

It sucks that some people, who are expressing their opinions might catch flak from this, and in this case, from reading the complaint, I can't see where SB really did anything wrong.

But....

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

and no, I will not be clicking on the paypal link

I am not very pleased with the USPS right now

So, here's my situation.

I ordered some items from China, which was shipped somehow, without a street number on the label.

It made it to my local post office.

I noticed that it hadn't arrived to my house on Monday, although the tracking said arrived Santa Rosa that morning.

I thought, ok, maybe it didn't make the truck.

I was off on a prescribed fire with the park service all day Tuesday. I got home, no package.

I rush off, and look online to see what the problem is, which is when I discovered my saved info at the vendor didn't have my street number in it, had everything else, just not the number.

So, bright and early this morning I went to the post office, hoping to resolve this somehow.

I get there, and they tell me they sent it back to China.

WHAT????

Ok, here's a package that was likely carried on the back of some peasant, who passed it off to a man with an ox cart, it was then put into the basket of a guy on a bike, who then brought it to a beat up old truck, which carried it to a ship, that carried over the ocean to a customs place in New York, it then made it's way to one transfer station, then another, finally arriving at my local post office.

On the package was my name, the town I lived in, and state, the street I lived on, all that was missing was the street number. This was a package that someone meant to have sent to them.

Knowing how many trials and tribulations this package had to endure to arrive this close to where it was intended, the local post office workers in their infinite wisdom concluded that it would wait a whole 24 hours (edit, 27 hours and 39 minutes...) before deciding that no one would come looking for this package, and sent it back.

It continues...

So, I decided to give the USA one last chance to redeem itself...

I called the HA, and I mean, double HA HA, CUSTOMER SERVICE number for tracking packages.

I spoke with the woman who only wanted the tracking number. No bedside manner here.

She told me that my package was being sent back dude to insufficient address.

I tried to find out what we could do about getting it stopped and sent back to this post office.

It seems WE can do nothing, I could try to get someone in China (who are all in bed now) to change the address on the package.

I told her I spoke with the sender of the package last night, and they weren't able to do anything from their end.

She insisted that they were the only ones that could do anything.

I'm confused. There's a package being transported through the US Postal Service, it's in their hands. There's barcodes, and scanners, and information exchanged when the two meet. Why not tag on to that barcode that this package needs to be routed to this post office? Next time it gets scanned, it's pulled from it's path, and redirected back to me.

The USPS tells me, even though it's in their possession, and it's their scanners, and their employees, that it's up to some guy in China to get this package rerouted to me? What is he supposed to do, fly here, break out his sharpie and scribble the corrected address onto the label of my package?

No wonder we speak with Government employees and government process with such disdain.

This gets better and better.

I wanted to send an unhappy email.

Go try to send a simple email.

They have designed a system to frustrate you at every step.

It's almost impressive.

So, I click the closest accurate responses, give all my personal info, but there's no place to actually write an email out to them.

Instead, there's this

They'll reply when they get around to it.

****UPDATE****

I received a call from the local post office.

Hopes were high that maybe the package was coming to me, but no.

The gentleman on the phone was responding to my attempt to email via the USPS website. Mike was very courteous, trying to explain there was nothing more that could have been done, and that holding it the 24 hours was actually longer than the rules allow. Sadly there is no way to intercept the package according to what he told me, so my items will not be making it to me any time soon.

:giggle: God's gettin' you for laughing at ScubaBoard's troubles . . . :rofl3:

Actually, the USPS deal happened before I found out about SB's troubles.

I think god is getting SB for the way they treat some of the users here.

Time is not important, the balance of Karma is...

And the board does not "treat" anyone. Sadly, with a lot of people, some members of the board treat others in less than kind ways.

Had you been nice enough to ask, you could have gotten your package (there are several post masters here on the board, one in your area.

My take is that god is getting phd for the way he was going to treat others on SB...

I leave for a week and everyone goes postal on me. :D

Nah, if that were true he would have been struck by lightning several times for his utter misguided, inappropriate and unprovoked treatment of me
