Glen,

Those pictures are amazing. What kind of camera setup do you use to get a shot like 7th-11th and also the 13th in your first post? Not trying to hijack the thread, but those pictures really look awesome.

I did not feel that comfy to be honest, I think Glen got a lucky shot of me there LOL..

I looked a lot better then I felt for a long time! You'll feel much better after more dives.

Only problem was....I didn't get a picture of a Dive Chick coming out of Young Siphon!

I know it's so sad!

John,

Hijack away...always glad to talk pictures. The camera is Canon G10: PowerShot G10 IS Digital Camera

I posted a picture that was taken Saturday of me and my camera. I have the camera in an Ikelite housing, and I have two Ikelite DS51 strobes. They are not real powerful strobes, but are plenty for most of my photography. It is hard to take a bad picture in the springs....but there was a good deal of particulate in the water Saturday, so getting close was really essential. I really couldn't take long distance pictures, unless I turned the strobes off. That is what I did with the shots of the cavern opening. G10 is a good camera for someone like me. I don't know enough about cameras and settings to use an SLR. You can go to my photobucket site if you want to see some other G10 pictures. Thanks for the kind words.

That's a serious peice of equipment. Do you use the fiber optic cable for the flash? If so, is it a "T" cable or do you have two wires coming off the housing?

It is a "T" cable...one plug in the TTL port on the back of the Ikelite case, and then it splits to two cables, one to each flash. I like the TTL function because the camera talks to the flashes...and regulates the intensity. It is not a perfect science, and I have to adjust things manually at times, but it is a good start. The worse draw back of my setup is the weight. It is quite negative in the water....so carrying it back in a cave can be a little cumbersome at times.

Oh good to know :rofl3:.. I did notice a lot less drag while swimming, I like that a bunch.

So did I. It was like gliding through the water. Of course the flow was down also so that probably helped.:D

JB's flow was lower then I have ever experienced. On my first dive I actually kicked a few times coming back out. Haven't had to do that before.

yay no flow!

I bet you wet suit sm divers are SUPER streamlined!

It really was odd...I always get real negative when going back up the chimney...as you know it usually pushes you up and out. I got negative Saturday the first hovered...and then just remained there. I couldn't believe I had to fin up and even stopped and turned around to take a picture of Kevin....and never got pushed out.
