I'm confused. I think you're saying a Dewalt 12 Ah PTB is 3 x 72 W-Hr individual packs inside.

If so, then going from a 12 Ah to a 15 Ah would make them 3 x 90 W-Hr packs, wouldn't it?

Regardless, I understand that having PTBs marked as TSA compliant at their original capacity, but flying with them knowing they are a higher capacity than the case is marked could still be a problem. That said, if they're still under 100 each, and made with the original shells, well, would anyone ever be able to tell that they are not the original capacity?
They will be able to tell they have been opened up before. There's a good chance coustoms or tssa may want to have a look inside .

You must have a lot of experience with that since you're shipping non approved batteries across international boarders too

/sarcasm

Zj I recommend you withdraw that coment as it is untrue.

The individual banks are still less than 100wh each.

In theory anything under 16ah would still be legal for air travel

A ScubaBoard Staff Message...

Let's try to stick to the thread topic here, DPV batteries, and avoid personal gripes. Thanks

Doing this for way cheaper and I’m talking around $60-$80 bucks. There’s too many YouTube videos out there, for free, to do this yourself.

You’re not wrong but whitzrac was talking about a turnkey service. What’s your time worth? Did you have to buy or build any tooling? I don’t know about you but I don’t work for free unless it’s a buddy and even then I demand pizza and beer.

@Whitrzac , what cell is DEWALT using? Are they really only 80% of the better cells? You’ve piqued my interest.

They are using Samsung 40t cells.
4000mah capacity

There are cells in the 5000+ capacity around, but they're not available to normal consumers.

I'm missing something, I see several 5000mah 21700s with more than 35A ; what's not available?
