Any new flipper colors?

Dive Xtras has a new scooter, the Blackfin. There's a thread over in the DPV forum about it.

Jim

That whole thread is misguided.
EPIRBs and PLBs both communicate on 406 MHz with the SAR-COSPAR satellites, part of the free, global service. EPIRBs are for marine use and are registered to boats. PLBs can be used anywhere and are registered to people.
The Garmin InReach does not use that frequency, does not talk to those satellites, and is not part of the global, free service.
It is entirely different, is a viable alternative in may situations, but you pay a subscription fee to use it. Its real value is messaging, not SOS'ing.
See for example:
Is Garmin/Delorme InReach a Good Alternative for PLBs?

I’ve been waiting for Anarchy Blue, sorry now I missed DEMA, have to pester my LDS to get them so I can shop on line to save $8.
