Please, let it be a new firmware...
Shearwater has an awesome project they are working on in regards to cell management. It will warn you when cells are reaching their shelf life and if they're acting wonky. There are a number of rebreather accidents that can be attributed to old cells, so this will yellow the cell when it approaches it's EOL, and flag it red when it passes it.
