Delta drives me crazy with connecting fares cheaper than ATL originating fares... It's a common occurrence with them, though that one is a bit crazier!

It makes no sense but this is what orbitz shows now. Fly MIA to Bon thru Atlanta $337.00. If you fly from Atlanta to Bon on the same dates same Atlanta Bon flight it is showing about $900 plus.
. . .

The ATL-BON is always in the $900+ range, and other Delta nonstops originating in ATL to popular dive destinations, like COZ and RTB are similarly expensive. It frustrates me to no end to see people from the Northeast or whatever fly through ATL to BON for a far lower fare than we Atlantans can get.

For a fare THIS good from MIA, I might as well snag the MIA-ATL-BON fare if it's still available and plan on using Skymiles to fly myself from ATL to MIA so I can fly back through ATL to BON. Talk about something making no sense.

fdog: I have always wanted to attempt a mileage run that allows me to dive, too. Have you ever found one like that? I've been a FT lurker for several years, but so far I haven't attempted a major mileage run. Vacation days are precious, and I use them for diving. Living in ATL, DL mileage runs are difficult, always requiring a positioning flight.

Hi Lorenzoid. Yes, we went on a MR with NW to HNL; that one was an offer combined with a hotel stay. Paid F ex-SFO, 5 days stay at a 4-star hotel, $180. Pretty tasty, and got to meet some FT'ers too!

We did one LAX-KUL (open jaw through SIN) that was $370 on DL in J. 150% and went to Sipidan.

To be honest I only do MRs once a year now, DL has diluted PM way too much, especially with all the F seats going to SDC. :( I'm fortunate that the company I fly for on business believes in NFY so sweating over u/g is a thing of the past.

Sucks about living at a hub, it really does making getting battleground fare pricing hard. Dang.

All the best, James

TKaelin, we bought tickies for June. Thanks a lot!! Anyone else buy?

Glad the info was of some benefit. We are thinking about a trip in June as well, but not sure flying from NYC to MIA to ATL to Bon will make sense for us. I am looking at possibly flying from EWR to MIA to CUR to Bon on the way down on a Wed and coming back Sat on the Continental nonstop to EWR. It would be nice to either stretch the BON trip to 10 days or spend three days in CUR first. We would take Divi over from CUR to BON. Still playing around with the options and prices.

The $296 + taxes fares from MIA to BON are also offered for 2 weekends in February and the last weekend in March. My guess that Delta is trying to fill a few more seats by competing aggressively against the Saturday Insel flight from MIA to BON. Delta appears to be competing for the MIA to BON route by offsetting the inconvenience of changing planes in ATL with lower prices than the Insel direct flight. More puzzling to me is the logic behind when to offer the deeply discounted rates and when not to. I'm guessing it has something to do with history of flying below capacity at certain times of the year. Or maybe the Magic 8 Ball advised this.

This fare seems to be gone now

Probably....I saw it last night and let some dive buddies know, they were thinking about booking this morning and it was removed.

Got a Kayak Alert this morning--$296. fare available for 2 Saturdays in Sept..........go for it!!
