This makes sense to me that the did this.....

El Orans:
Restructuring the United States...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In an effort to clean up some of our top level forums, we have re-structured the United States into more concise regions. The location or link to your favorite forum has not changed at all. It just may be in a broader geographical region.
The only visible change can be seen here at http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/united-states/ where the number of sub-forums displayed has been reduced from 16 to 8.

Thanks for your continued support of ScubaBoard.com.

They broke certain groups up into regional forums.

We are part of the Southeast, which makes sense.http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/south-eastern-united-states/

But they didnt' do it to the whole US? (or maybe they aren't done yet).

Florida and California didn't get restructed for example.???? why's that?

It seems ok and makes sense to a degree but like you said where's florida? South of georgia and alabama of course!!!! Seems like they would be included in the "Southeast Region"

well maybe it's because Florida is all imported Yankee's ? :D

Just a guess, but perhaps volume?

that's what I'm thinking. They have enough volume in my opinion to justify being alone.

The basic reason FL and CA were left as stand alone regions is because they are pretty much, in and of themselves, diving Meccas.

I found it a little Odd that Kentucky was not considered part of the south...

but the folks there do dive the quarries up in Indiana and Illinoise also, which are part of the central states.

I never considered Texas to be an independent "Dive Mecca" though....

Personally I didn't think that any of them needed cleaning up that bad or re-organized. But there might be limitations of the software and number of sub-forums under one header (the US) that we aren't aware of. Anyway, in the event of the re-org, it doesn't bother me that much either.... just adds extra clicks to get to any sub-forum now.

Well, any ideas for a perfect division of geographical diving regions would be accepted, gladly.

HAHAHA I started to say the same thing but for fear of starting WWIII i neglected to do so.

Maybe :sblogo: is planning to relocate florida back up north. LOL :rofl3:

All kidding aside it doesn't bother me just as long as ya'll keep the forums up they're a great source of diving info.:D

Glad to hear that for the most part people are happy with the changes.

California and Florida also have so many posts in their forums we felt that they could stand to be singled out. :rofl3:
