Doing my next big dive trip in September. If you could only do one, would you do the Red Sea - Southern Route or the Azores (Portugal)? Posted in the Red Sea section as well.
 
Azores for me.
 
You can also see consistently whale sharks in Ambrósio (Santa Maria, Azores) in the first half of September (at least).

I would still prefer the Red Sea.
 
That's a bold statement. Been there twice in September and never seen it, and there were no sightinghts around those weeks. Only in formigas

Oh wow. Always heard that lately in the second half of August, first of September it is very common to see whale sharks there.
I saw one in Princesa Alice in 2020 but word on the street is that is rare.

É raro. Extremamente raro. O documentário do Nuno passou outra ideia mas há DM's a trabalhar há 3 anos na ilha e que apenas viram 1x.
