Dealing with long hair

What works for me is keeping my hair in a buff the entire time I'm on the boat or outdoors in the wind. (The buff is a stretchy tube of fabric.) I put it around my neck, pull one end up to my forehead and then down over my long hair, stop when the other end gets to my forehead, and it reaches to just past my shoulders. It won't fall off, and my hair can't move around and get tangled. If the water's really warm, I'll leave the buff on underwater too. When I get back to my room I just wash the buff in the sink or shower, and it dries overnight. Usually, I prefer to wear a neoprene beanie with a chin strap instead of the buff when I'm getting in the water. I find that the beanie makes me so much warmer, I can use a lighter wetsuit, and save myself from hauling around some lead.

These look pretty cool!

Wow, I can't tell you how exciting it is, as the creator of The Bang Wrangler, to see a complete stranger talking about seeing one "in the wild".

I wanted to make these for use in water sports in general, but it was specifically my scuba certification process that pushed me over the edge. I had bangs at the time (and even now without them) I found that stray hairs were getting into my mask and causing it to leak. So personally, I am so excited that we've finally created these, because those hairs falling in my face have always made me crazy not just during diving, but even lap swimming and kayaking and things. And I HATE wearing swim caps and looking like a conehead!

The Bang Wrangler really does work very well, and it's that nice, soft silicone that is "sticky" enough to stay in place but is really good at not pulling or breaking hair. Plus it's waterproof, so it doesn't get all wet and icky like a bandana. I hope that you guys will love it as much as I do, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!!

these look interesting. Would it cause any problems when trying to put a vest/hood on or would it keep in place? Hair has to be one of the most annoying aspects of diving

I think I found something similar to the Bang Wrangler at my local sporting goods store. It is a 3 pk of silicone headbands by Under Armour for $17.99 but they seem to work. The wispy hair seems to be contained and I am losing less hair.
