Have you done any lake diving? If so It would be pretty similar although as lakes go Dale Hollow is known for pretty decent viz. You may come across road beds, foundations to houses, trees and the occasional small boat. You may see some fish, turtles are always a welcome bonus, catfish if you know where to look for them. I look for mussels anytime I dive in a lake and try to I.D. them when I get home. I also look for any of the little plankton's and other such small creatures. There are eels in the lakes but the only ones I've seen were on a trot line.

Trot lines and fishing line can be found almost everywhere. My advice here is to move slowly through the water and be able to stop instantly and then make any changes you need to avoid the fishing line. I don't think this is a problem for you

I enjoy swimming through the tree tops as long as there isn't much fishing line caught in them.

Dale Hollow actually has five or six "official" dive sites. They can only be reached by boat however. At one of the sites, theres thousands of geodes (hollow rocks with crystals inside). There are fishing and trot lines everywhere though.

Well, we did Dale Hollow last weekend with a group of friends from the dive shop. There were about 20 of us, counting non-divers. The divers went together and rented a pontoon boat from Wolf River Marina and we headed for the dive sites for the day. We also had 3 other boats with us as well owned by others in our group. Let's just say the comraderie far out shined the diving. Nothing like hanging out on the water talking about all the dives we've done that were much better. In defense, I think the vis was not what it usually is......we were lucky to have an arm's length. Oh well, another dive site added to my completed list.
