I am now the proud owner of a DA Aquamaster!:cool3: I new this was going to be a slippery slope when I picked up that Conshelf off of ebay, but I didn't think it'd happen this quickly.
I'd appreciate any and all tips, about diving a Double hose, I learned my first lesson already when I discovered that there's no purge valve.
Also, if anyone has any info concerning the aquamaster, I'd love to hear it.

I'd head over to vintagedoublehose.com if you have not already. There's a wealth of information on that site, and some very knowledgeable members.

Dive it like it was meant to be, J valve or spg on a banjo adapter, steel 72, military harness.

Using a double hose with modern gear such as a heavy, thick, V channel tech plate with the tank hiked up over your head so you can "reach the valves" will result in a bad experience. The tank must be low and close to the back, a military harness provides that.

Pick up a old copy of The New Science of Skin and Scuba or Basic Scuba, pre 1970 editions. However, since your DA has cage valves in the mouthpiece, you do not have to do the rolling and milking to clear a can flood.

You will need to rebuild or have rebuilt the regulator.

Vintage Double Hose is a good source for parts and repairs.

Got another fish on the line, set the hook, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzsssssssssssss, set that drag!!!!!!!! he is taking line out, rod up! Hook'um.

Welcome to the dark side of the scuba force, as you have already learned the path to the dark side is a slippery path that will soon consume you. !

There is a lot to learn about double hoses young apprentice, you must hone your skills and you must leave the comfort of the poodle jackets you love. The ways of the dark twin hoses require more skills than the puny single hoses of the Jedi......Sorry that was just too easy to roll with. :)

There is a lot of help here and on VDH. You will want to rebuild or have it rebuilt with upgraded silicone parts and then learn to dive it correctly.

There is an addictive virus going around which I caught 6 months ago. I now have
3 DH regs and can think of nothing else. There seems to be no fever with this virus
but the symptoms are always the same.Sorry to say that it looks like you have
contracted it. :shakehead: I hear there is no cure :depressed:.

It starts with one;

Then, you need another with a Phoenix Nozzle

After a while, you have to see if you can do a full rebuild

Oh, NOOOOOO - sell the hous, sell the wife, sell the kids, heeheeeheehehehahahahaha

I'm in for over a dozen double hosers and I've started collecting vintage single hosers in the last six months. Now you think a DA is exotic. Wait until you buy your first Polish Kaiman double hose! Ha, ha ha........

Darthwader,
I see you got sucked in just like me. Nemrod and DA Aquamaster always writing about their DH, showing pictures, slowly trolling for victims. Stared reading the posts here and at VDH and VSS, what the heck went to Ebay, won, hook set. Now I got more money invested in my DA Aquamaster then it would have cost me to buy a brand new Atomic T2 Titanium. But you know what I am much happier. Lets see, dive with new technology or a classic piece of art. Give me the classic. Plus it gives you a chance to think outside of the box. Like how can I convert my BC to better accomodate my new PRAM. In this case once you take a bite of the apple you are in the Garden.

Then you start buying gauges -

Yes I need more gauges!

Shark Skin wets suits, oh ya

Knifes!, Lots and lots of knifes.

OH MY GOD, where is my VOLCAN!

Hahahahahah Hohohoh, Hahahaha

Dollars, need for dollars for gear.

Dive Watches - they are Dive Porn!

Got to start diving without a BC!

Get used to being told "YOU WILL DIE!"
