good dive, prettiest spring in florida Ive seen, and since you can only get to it by boat now, its very quiet, and the crawdads are huge. Caverm to 45ft is very safe as well, except high flow.

What has the water company done there? Anything aparent? Is their intake anywhere that it could be a hazard to diving?

Could you define safe? I was there several years ago but I didn't have any cavern or cave training at the time so I didn't enter.

No signs of the water company. This is probably one of those springs that would benefit from state interference. Cavern is pretty small, and you can only go maybe 25ft back, down to 45ft deep. Theres a restriction that you probably cant go past without sidemount. You can easily see light and dont even really need a light in the cavern, and while the flow is pretty high (just be careful on ascent), it also means very little silt.

I was there the month the closed. I wouldn't call the cavern safe. You nearly half to back out of it. It's pretty tight. But fun and very clean.

The location is about an hour from Panama City, Fla. near Morrison Springs.

Nah, its pretty big. Maybe your thinking of the restriction farther down. Here's an exact location.

Theres a boat ramp just south of the spring on the east side of the creek. Go up a few miles from vernon on 277, and look for the ramp sign on the left. Its a short ride upriver.
