Horrible question, has anyone ever added a ABV to a Poseidon Atmosphere?

Thanks!

Not so horrible.

I had wondered that myself, having both used and owned FFMs with and without ABVs (ambient breathing valves). The last that I had heard, Interspiro, which had an engineer in common with Poseidon, was not willing to sell their valve as a standalone item; and I am not that terribly fond of them, having had serial leaking issues with a couple of early models; that, and they still tend to be honking in size, adding a bit more darkness and tunnel vision to devices which already offer plenty.

I often just don the Atmosphere loosely with the Jetstream switch off and can still breathe quite well -- just as freely, if not more so than with, say, an OTS Guardian or an Interspiro Divator with an ABV; and have done so for years on boats and even during longer surface swims.

More recently -- and if the water is not suspect -- my mask has just been clipped to my BC and donned just before diving.

A brief tug on a couple of straps, even with thicker gloves; a brief purge if at all necessary; and you’re good to go . . .

Hey @Bigbella!

Thanks for the wonderful words of wisdom! I more just wanted to see if its possible as I saw they had some nice use by me, and I can't really stop tinkering!

I was more looking at the shape and size of the whole plastic portion of the face shield: (see here) and the fact it seems almost the same

It also seems as though they do sell them indivudally here. Although it looks as though they have a spacer where the ffm face glass would normally be, especially as its a different color of plastic!

Thanks!

That ABV that you provided in your link has a “tongue“ with an opening that allows for the attachment of a regulator mouthpiece on the interior of a FFM. It is really a plug and play model, without any need for drilling an opening in a visor . . .

I don't have an Atmosphere in front of me to refresh my memory, but I can't remember any reason why it would not be possible.

It would be entirely possible with either of those visor-mounted OTS Guardian and Interspiro Divator valves, and the Poseidon visor is almost identical to that of the Interspiro -- just not that "plug and play" model in that link above, which calls for a regulator mouthpiece that the Atmosphere does not possess . . .

Yep - avoid the regulator mouthpiece version.

Ah thanks!
