You can always get a pretty good real time measurement of water temps by going to the website for the NOAA weather buoy, Station 42056. Go to NDBC.NOAA.gov and search for Station 42056. This is a NOAA weather buoy in the Yucatan Basin, 120 miles ESE of Cozumel. It shows current surface water temp. of 80.2 degrees F. Water temp. off Cozumel might be a fraction lower, but not off by more than 1-2 degrees, as it's a bit further north, but the current flows pretty much from that buoy right to Cozumel.

Well, actually, looking at the map, the current flows from that buoy up to Cuba. But still a pretty good estimate of Cozumel water temps.

Yep, it's chilly. Two days ago, I wore a 7mm shortie under my 5mm full suit on my second dive...mainly because I froze on the first one.

How's the viz?
