Anyone know it? I looked in the conditions thread and I see posts that contain "ish" is that like 78 or like 70?

Trying to decide if I dive dry or wet

"Clear Springs Scuba Park", located near Terrell, Texas (About 30 minutes east of Dallas).

Computer registered 66 at 42ffw today, about a 3 degree variance from surface to 42ffw. No noticeable thermocline. First dive in drysuit, second in 8/5mm neoprene, drysuit was MUCH better!

It's drysuit season. The vis is about to improve significantly, too. Fish sightings, not so much. :)

My log shows a dive last Halloween in my shell suit, Patagonia 4 wt T&B with fleece sweater on top for perfect comfort. Probably not far off for this year.

I had a class of Wreck Divers out there last Saturday (10/24). I had 66 in the water. Nice and cozy in my 7mm, hood/vest/gloves. Vis was still bad...5' or so.

I can go either way at CSSP now in the upper waters (20ffw) 'right now'.....but below 40ffw were I spend most my time lately I wear a dry suit for comfort. SO I am now in a dry suit on CSSP visits.

Last weekend at 60ffw/64f on my computer. At 51ffw water was in the 60's. Plus if weather is a bit cool and windy a wet suit is not the best you can do out of the water.

It's really not how the water feels to us while diving ( our tolerance), it's the physiological effect on our bodies as divers, particularly on longer or repeat dives.

There are allot of studies out their that one should read and study if 60'sf water or less is in their plans for repeat/longer diving.

3 different computers showed 64 today... I dove wet thinking around 71, oops.

Yeah. My personal opinion is . . . any time after Oct 12, Oct 15 or thereabouts is drysuit diving only. No questions. No exceptions.

viz is improving quickly, away from the platforms and attractions, got as good as 15ft. fish were sparse
