CHUD:
Thanks for the report, Dan. I'm going there Friday, staying at the Hilton next door to the Marriott, and I'm doing a few dives with the Dive Bus. Did you do their Wednesday night dive?

Chud,

Please post a note here when you return. We are also headed to the Hilton Curacao in May. Have a great trip.

What was wrong at Breezes ? I personally don't like all inclusives, but many of my group trips with non divers end up at these types of resorts, so it's on the consideration list.
well there were several things. the entertainment was absolutely terrible. they sell day passes to the locals on the weekends which makes the resorts way too crowded...there were not enough seats in the buffet area on the weekends. it was just a disappointment after being at sandals i guess.
on a positive note they did have decent snorkeling right from the beach and the beach was very large so you could always find a quiet spot. there are a lot of resorts on the island so i would recommend you look elsewhere. (shorediving is included however)

Marie Pampoen with Mark and Suzy are nice. We've been doing those for the past 6 months. Some times they'll be busy and have to cancel or reschedule for a different night of the week. Suzy has painted about anything that stands still, the shop, fences, and the surf and turf resturant. They even have their own restroom now!

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I didnt want to start another one with the same title. Wife and I are staying on Curacao 10-14th of May (after 6nts on Bonaire). Trying to decide where to stay. Looks like Mariott and Sunset are booked. She likes the Kura Hulonda (at least on paper and trip advisor reports). Dont see any reviews of people here staying there. So given the 2 most reported on resorts are booked, where should we stay?

I plan on shore diving. She doesnt dive, but snorkels. We are not big all-inclusive eater types. Just looking for a nice place. This is our 5yr anniversary trip, so a nice place would be, well... nice.
Thanks!
Jeremy

Hura Hulanda downtown or on the west end? The downtown one looks neat but I wouldn't stay there if I wanted to dive.

We stayed at the Holiday Beach and Casino last July. It was nothing fancy but OK ,we would stay there again. The shore dive was pretty good and there was a nice beach on site. The dive shop left something to be desired but all we wanted were tanks so they were fine with us. If you want to boat dive or have a lot of DM attention I would suggest someone else. It's located within walking distance from town so the location made it convient for eating out, we walked most of the time. The on site restaurant was good.

Downtown one. I only get 2 days to dive (plus maybe 1 morning) as I arrive from Bonaire on the 10th and fly out early on the 14th - so no diving 13th... so 11+12th for diving. So travelling to shore dive for a couple days seems fine.
