Curacao - Habitat or Sunset?

you will enjoy the diving in curacao.
while diving the house reef at sunset, see if you can find the statue of the lady.
she should be at 82 ft in the sand chute straight down from the wreck.
when my son and i found her she was laying down and we had to stand her up.
she is about 3 ft tall.
please tell everyone at sunset that bo and smokey say hey.

Sunset was spectacular! I didn't see the statue because we stayed shallow in the house reef trying to find the seahorses. Make sure you get good directions or a guide to take you to see them - they are spectacular. I did go down past 90ft on the first shore dive and the reef just kept going - its really wonderful - even our instructor/trip leader said it was one of the best house reefs he's seen.

Let me give you some advice that I wish I had had before going to Curaçao this summer.

If you take tanks and drive up toward the northwest side, you will see red painted rocks (with the white diver slash) along the way, next to side roads. Each of these takes you to a beach with a dive site. These range from very rustic to having some decent accommodations. With a little good advice, you can have some excellent shore diving far from the madding crowds ignoble strife.

We only spent four days in Curaçao--big mistake. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

So that's what all those are, If you look close there's a number on them that goes with the drive and dive maps you can get almost anywhere Then you can find your way back to the hotel with the map! The northwest is not the only place either, the entire leeward side of the island has shore diving spots. And the good thing is, you can go right thru the hotels to the dive shops and dive their house reefs, they love your business! Several beaches have operators that can furnish tanks/ gear and have varried facilities. I agree, you need more than 4 days :14:

Well we moved our dates back a bit, we will now be there March 29-April 4. Let me know if anyone will be there as my wife does not night dive so I will need a buddy.
