I disagree with Packhorse...it is unlikely you will damage it using rechargeables. It is a regulated circuit.

Why don't you email the manufacturers and ask them?

Notice I said "unlikely," while Packhorse writes as if he knows for sure. Until you know from trying you cannot give advice with such certainty.


Have you actually used/ disassembled a IST T09?
I have. I have also brought 2 damaged T09s. The damage was done by using "3.6 volt" cells instead of the recommended 3 volt cells.
There is no regulation except for a surface mount resistor.

I did not state the Intova was the same. I simply suggest you check first. Im not sure why you would disagree with this suggestion.

Count the errors.
Package says Cree. Description says Luxeon.
Also says 4.7 watt LED. Cree do not make a 4.7 watt LED.
If it is a 4.7 watt LED how can it run for 6 -8 hours 28-37 watt hours while it only has
18 watt hours of batteries (3volt x 1500ma x 2 batteries)?
