We were there Sept 30-Oct 7th....rain and rough seas, current the first few days. Shore diving was challenging, and we are seasoned shore divers. It rained while we were in the water one dive, vis was low from all the rain the first few days. The third afternoon, we had sunny skies.

shore dives the first couple of days....very rough seas, vis low

great conditions...sunny skies at least, vis still lower than normal, and current was moderate at first but picked up at the end of dive making it hard to swim at all against it. We got out after 1 hour, so great dive still.

We always do the shore dive at SCC when we are there... every afternoon, shore dive after lunch. You never know what you will find. Past years we always saw dozens of eels. This year only 2 spotted eels. Zero golden, zero chain moray, zero green. Not sure if it was the lousy rainy weather or a thing this year in particular.

GoPro 5 Black with red filter.

Very nice. The red filter really makes a difference. Was some of # 2 shot by Hotel Coz? The concrete debris looks like it was.

And as I mentioned before.... best to view full screen. Click on Vimeo icon, go to full size on website. Resolution is 1920x1080 so really sharp.
Are you going to submit some of your videos to the Museo de la Isla de Cozumel contest? Its free to enter, lots of prizes, and your video clip could end up in the permanent exhibit with your attribution.

Nope, we never got down that far as the current was so strong all week. All that old pier debris is actually straight out from SCC on the north end, a red buoy is attached. You can see that buoy in my topside photo.

In video #1 we get out as far as the southern buoy line that borders the Hotel Cozumel, to one of the cones, but once again, the current was ripping, so we turned back closer to shore under out pier.

OK Thanks. That debris field is almost identical to one out front of Hotel Cozumel on the SCC side of their pier.
