My wife and I are making our first trip to Coz July 12-16. It's a short trip, but I'm sure we'll wear it out as usual!
We're staying at the Presidente. We'll try Scuba Du onsite. If we don't like 'em, we'll try somebody else. We've never had good luck buying dive packages since something (head cold, rough conditions, don't like the operator) always seems to come up. So we just pay as we go.
We've been OW certified for about nine years. We only get to go on a dive vacation about once a year, with a trip or two to the quarry to maintain skills. We have to be content to be perpetual novices. So cattle boats or diving with beginners doesn't bother us. Sometimes bossy ("I wanna go somewhere deep/dangerous with my computer blah, blah, blah") pseudo-tech divers do bother us. We don't care about max bottom time or depth. Just warm clear water with lots to see. And a safe professional dive operation. Love to follow the DM for a tour when he/she is willing and competent.
We like to dive in the mornings and spend the afternoon at the pool/beach con cerveza. Then a quest for excellent food at dinner.
It might be fun to link up to with somebody from the board for diving or cocktails/dinner. Let me know!
